Union Country Club to Offer Junior Golf Program

Union Country Club in Dover kicks off its junior programs next month.

The program will include golf clinics and an on-course league for kids ages 6-14. Children of UCC members and non-members can register their kids for the programs.

The last day to sign up for junior clinics and/or the on-course league will be Tuesday, May 24.

The UCC On-Course League will be set up as a weekly two-person scramble competition, in which the staff will strive to ensure children play with a different competitor each week. To solidify their status as a UCC league, each participant will receive a hat with their name on it and a special UCC Junior League t-shirt. The club will also be sprinkling in some other surprises throughout the summer.

Separate from the UCC Junior League, the golf clinics will teach children the following: Grip and stance, short game fundamentals (swing and stance); basic full swing fundamentals; golf club knowledge; putting fundamentals; golf etiquette; putting games/challenges, and short game games/challenges.

Parents can improve their game with their kids by visiting UCC’s sister property Oak Shadows Golf Club in between the Junior League days or clinics. They have players' cards available for purchase for added benefits.
