Golf Operations is responsible for delivering the golf experience, which is the heartbeat of most club operations — from the moment a member or customer drives up to the bag drop, to their final putt on the 18th green, and even the merchandise they may take home.
Bobby Jones Links’ golf operations services, led by PGA members, include training and management in the following key areas:
Implement dynamic pricing strategies and tee time software for public play, and manage tee time allocations for members.
Manage tee time utilization, no-shows, pace-of-play metrics, and retail sales performance.
Select and program the point-of-sale system.
Ensure the golf operations systems connect seamlessly with the club’s financial and marketing databases.
Onboard new members to club services, programs, and club policies.
Plan and host various member events, including club championships and member-guest tournaments.
Train and oversee golf shop staff, starters, rangers, outside service teams, and player assistants.
Oversee pro shop merchandise and vendor relationships, and negotiate favorable purchasing terms.
Enhance golf merchandise sales, inventory, margins, and displays.
Provide private lessons, group clinics, and on-course instruction for all skill levels.
Maximizing tournament and event sales.
Manage the golf car fleet, including leasing, maintenance, cleaning, and rotation.
Train and oversee the beverage cart service and operation.
Manage supply costs, uniforms, and operational overhead.
Assist the membership director with prospective member golf experiences.
Coordinate course setup and marking with the superintendent.
