Cobb County, located in a suburb of Atlanta, owns Cobblestone, a stunning municipal course designed by Finger, Dye, and Spann. It sits in an environmentally sensitive area next to a Federal conservation easement, featuring 12 holes along Lake Allatoona, impressive Champion Bermuda greens complexes, deep bunkering, and design elements more similar to a high-end private club than a municipal golf course. The views from the clubhouse and its waterfront restaurant are excellent, making it a popular spot for both golfers and non-golfers alike.

For a governmental agency to build a public course of this caliber is highly unusual. As a result, Cobblestone has racked up awards and accolades over the years. These awards include a Four-Star rating by Golf Digest, a spot on the “Top 100 Courses You Can Play” by Golf Magazine, and “Best Municipal Courses in the US” by Golfweek. It has also hosted numerous amateur events and was once a qualifying site for the PGA Tour event in Atlanta.

Cobblestone plays 60,000 rounds per year, making it one of the top five busiest courses in Georgia, and yet remains in great condition.

In 2003, Bobby Jones Links was selected from ten RFP respondents to manage Cobblestone for Cobb County and now is enjoying a third renewal through 2034.
