“My whole family, they made so many sacrifices so that I could do what I did” said Powell. “My dad taught me the game of golf, and to be able to go on tour, to travel the world while they were at home in the trenches keeping that golf course alive. I just feel a strong sense of responsibility and obligation.”

“You know we get so many vacationers so many people coming to Panama City Beach in the Summertime so we just wanted to create something other than a normal day of golf for them to be a part of,” Bay Points Golf Club General Manager Ryan Mulvey said.

“It’s just an awesome organization that started in the roots of golf, with the Lieutenant Colonel [Dan] Rooney being a PGA member,” Mulvey said. “We try to do our part around here, especially with how big of a military presence we have here in the panhandle.”
