Atlanta, Ga. (May 4, 2020) – Bobby Jones Links has been selected to manage Hope Valley Country Club in Durham, North Carolina. Founded in 1926, Hope Valley anchors a historic part of Durham while nearby Chapel Hill, the Research Triangle Park, and the Raleigh-Durham airport make the club’s locaton one of the most vibrant and appealing in the Southeast.
The centerpiece at Hope Valley is a classic Donald Ross championship golf course. At the same time, the course has gone through periodic renovations with high-profile golf course architects such as Perry Maxwell, Dan Maples, John LaFoy, and Brian Silva. For almost 100 years it has hosted notabable golf tournaments, including the 1945 Durham Open, won by Byron Nelson while on his historic streak of winning eleven consecutive PGA Tour victories. Other famous winners of events at Hope Valley include Doug Sanders and Mike Souchak.
The 52,000 square foot clubhouse, built in 1926, is a classic French Norman design, designed by renowned architect Aymer Embury. Dining venues at the club range from formal, to family, to casual after-sports menus and settings. The members at Hope Valley also enjoy two swimming pools with stunning views of the finishing hole and nine tennis courts. “This is a very active membership and vibrant club – one that will only become better with Bobby Jones Links assistance,” said Chad Pisaneachi, Hope Valley’s General Manager.
“We are delighted to assist such a prestigious club, particularly one that is a Donald Ross design with so much history” said Steve Willy, Co-Founder of Bobby Jones Links. “We are here to support the Board, assist the staff, and enhance the members’ experience.”
