Golf lovers from across the Midlands attended Cobblestone Park Golf Club's first-ever 'Fairways to Freedom' charity golf tournament Monday, March 21.

The tournament benefited the Range Fore Hope Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to aiding South Carolina's veterans. The organization's mission is to provide programs and access to resources as a positive outlet to assist active-duty service members, veterans, and their dependents overcome life's difficulties specifically attributed to the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The event raised $23,000 and featured 35 teams and 140 golfers. The proceeds are being used for an adaptive golf course program at Cobblestone Park Golf Club that will cater specifically to disabled veterans in South Carolina.
