The Georgia Club Donates more than 300 meals to Local Healthcare Heroes

Statham, GA (April 30, 2020) – The Georgia Club donated over 300 meals to Oconee and Barrow County healthcare workers as a result of a Buy-One-Give-One dinner service.

A special Tuesday night dinner menu on April 21st gave members of The Georgia Club the chance to make a difference in the lives of local healthcare workers by picking up a to-go order and in turn, the Club would donate a meal to the community. The members’ response to the initiative was overwhelmingly generous and over 300 meals were purchased.

The Georgia Club is located in both the Oconee County and Barrow County line and due to the outstanding response from members, The Georgia Club is able to provide food to healthcare locations in both counties.

The Georgia Club completed the first delivery of 140 meals on Thursday April 30th to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Barrow. The next donation will be made in partnership with the Athens Oconee Audiology Clinic on Thursday May 7th to the Piedmont Urgent Care Oconee campus. The planned 170 breakfast meals that will be delivered to this COVID-19 testing center as a way to show appreciation for the healthcare workers and essential employees that are on the frontlines during this pandemic.
